Añadir reseña. 10 de julio de 2018. Purple Blue is the third full-length album by Canadian indie band Eric's Trip. The album marked a turn to a heavier, more psychedelic sound, which Rick White would further explore with Elevator. A tribute to the album can be found in the song Eric Sleeps, by Australian indie band Youth Group, from their debut album Urban and Eastern. Trouser Press wrote: An assured slip of a record that favors full-on distorted rocketry over airy folk-pop and dinky minimalism, Purple Blue merely lacks the tunes. Long Island, USA. We Tend To Forget As much as is said of our current times being new lows, where things have changed for the worse and we're unsure of the future, it's worth returning to study the past to understand how steadily low we remain. Nothing's changed, says a younger Barack Obama in a sample for the opening track. SleepyDino Happy Will Long returned - and as expected - in top form. Sorry Jack Favorite track: We Tend To Forget. Buy PurpleBlue at Juno Records. In stock now for same day shipping. Will Long has been missing in action for a little while. Since 2013 to be precise, when he released an EP for basic sounds. He's back in the game with the onset of a new series for DJ Sprinkles' Comatonse label, a fine doublepack of leftfield house excursions called PurpleBlue. Long's This Time Has Come is a classic deep house chugger complete with travelling pads and a dubby bass tone, but Sprinkles' overdub mix is what really brings out the low-ends and - how should we say - ties the room together
Sprinkles' Overdub reminds me of one obscure & forgotten Russian track I've loved for years: My-Ti – Lover Man (Art House Deep Mix)

i've owned 3 copies of this from both presses and all have had major surface noise throughout, mostly ruining the Chumps disc. most unfortunate!

In a sea of beautiful music from Terre Thaemlitz, "Chumps" might be the greatest moment she has ever given us. Just an unbelievably moving song. Even after two years of listening to this track it continues to move me in new ways. Who needs therapy when music like this exists?

amen brother. one of the if not THE best remix from Terre.

Sprinkles Overdub of Chumps probably is my favourite from this seven record pack. The sample could not be more true, the cello(?) that comes in around three minute mark.. just damn!

The sample in chumps is dead on man . .

We got a limited amount of all 3 volume bundled together, check here: http://bit.ly/long-trax-bundle

Sprinkles stuff is always good, but this really is a sublime piece of music. Special record.

About as deep as you can get - sublime music

"We live in an era when 'change' is a soundbite to sell more of the same old ideas, and 'revolution' has more to do with social trends than social transformation. Will Long's deep house debut on Comatonse Recordings examines that pack of lies dubbed 'change' from the sweaty dancefloor, sounding the aftermath of failure around attempts at equality in 'progressive' societies. Made with a simple setup of rhythm composer percussion, polyphonic synth chords, and rack sampler vocals, these tracks have a minimal rawness that contends we've been wrong the whole time about how far the US - and the world - has come. Although these tracks are sonically unlike anything Long has produced as Celer or his other aliases for minimal and ambient experiemental audio, they share a stripped-yet-full sound that reacts against overproduction - within the dance music industry, and societies at large. Each track is accompanied by an overdub from DJ Sprinkles, and the packaging features illustrations by Tsuji Aiko. The project will initially be released as a series of three multi-disc vinyl sets (two x2 EP sets and one x3 EP set, seven discs in all), followed by a double CD release with poster. Coming soon to comatonse.com, Will's online shop and Boomkat."We're in for a treat this year, with 3 Comatonse Vinyl EPs and a full Double CD from Will Long on his first venture into deep house. Super minimal productions, but done exquisitely. To some the simplicity may be misconstrued as "amateur" but to me these tracks sound expertly produced, with a swimming pool of pad to dive right into. Thaemlitz provides the signature Sprinkles touch on each side. The one for me is the "Chumps" Overdub, with a real sense of retouching that emphasise the sample of "No progress has been made", the strings, the swirling piano. Get melancholic about the world we live in, reflect on the "progression", "hope" and "change" we hear so much about. And although we may not see any original Sprinkles material for quite some time, we at least have this wonderful series of overdubs. It's all here.
